Project CLASS Research Overview
Mena (2001) showed statistically significant improvement in school and home functioning in students in a Houston elementary school receiving Project CLASS training.

Mena (2005) showed with statistical significance that Project CLASS social skills groups for children resulted in decreased inappropriate behavior and increased appropriate behavior.

Mena (2005) showed that teachers’ assessment of Project CLASS across the dimensions of Usefulness, Helpfulness, Positive Impact on School Climate, Improvement of Student Behavior, Decreased Disciplinary Referrals, and Increased Academic Teaching Time, were significantly positive, both at the outset of Project CLASS services and six months later.

Mena (2005) showed that teachers’ assessment of Project CLASS across the dimensions related to teachers’ “social skills teaching skills” were significantly positive, both at the outset of Project CLASS services and six months later. “Social Skills Teaching Skills” focused on were: Social Skills Language, Use of Resources & Materials, Praise & Positive Attention, Reminder Prompts, and Social Skills Knowledge.
